We drove out to Utah the same day Spencer & Alexis got out of school. Spencer had finals. We waited till he finished up his last two and left home around noon. We drove so we could take Quinn & Erin our living room furniture, wedding gifts from friends here in St. Louis and some other odds and ends to both Quinn & Erica. We had a small u-haul trail hitched to our Jeep & off we went.
The ride was fun. Call me weird... but I really enjoy road trips. I like being in the car and talking to the family and singing to the top of my lungs, off key, to music, (missed you Erica.... she is the best singing partner.) I love reminiscing about good times we've had over the years. I love watching our children sleep at times and knowing we are all together and safe. I love stopping and getting gas, treats, foods, ect. I love knowing we are leaving all our activities, work, phones, & responsibilities we have at home behind. I love being with Dave and knowing he can't escape from me and run outside and trim a bush or two or knock down a wall in our house. I love having him all to myself and knowing he can't find any reason to find "work" to do... because he just can't. I love looking and finding beauty in this country we live in.
Vacations are good... GOOD FOR THE SOUL!
We always take the the 21 hour trip in two days. We arrived in SLC in good time. We stayed with Quinn in his apt. Yeah, for the Village... The U's student housing.... Erica and Tony came up shortly after we got there and it was fun to see Landon again. I loved watching Dave, Spencer & Alexis with him. They were so excited to finally hold him!
Spencer & Alexis went back down to Orem to stay with Erica and Dave and I stayed with Quinn.
It was nice to be with Quinn for a week before he got married. Even though we were apart at night we met up everyday with Erica.
