Leaving tomorrow...
Spencer will be leaving tomorrow for Albania, after spending 12 weeks in the MTC. He will be flying out with his district... Wednesday, Jan 4, 2012. I know he will miss the MTC, but is ready to leave and start teaching.
Not sure, what his schedule is for sure... not received his letter, as of yet, with his itinerary. Hopefully we will get it today. He will be able to call us sometime tomorrow... not sure when, due to waiting for his letter letting us know.
We are so EXCITED to hear his voice!!! We can hardly wait! Every time the phone will ring tomorrow, I'll get so excited thinking, it might be him!!!
We weren't able to speak with him on Christmas, due to the fact they can't accommodate all the phone calls with so many missionaries in the MTC. But to our surprise they were able to e-mail us on Christmas Day. We didn't know this. I didn't check my e-mail until the next day, late in the evening. I saw his e-mail and I shouted with joy, in our quite house, so late at night that we had gotten an e-mail from Spencer! It was wonderful! I cried!
It amazes me, the love you have for your children... all of them. I can't think of another job that I would want anymore, than being a Mother. I'm so thankful to be blessed with this role.
I have people ask me often, is it easier (missing them less, etc.) to have your second son serve a mission? I tell them no, you still miss them so much... but are so thankful for where they are doing and wouldn't want them to be anywhere else at this time in their lives.
Each of our children have such a important impact on our home. You miss the personality and traits of each child. The only difference I could say having your second child serve a mission is, you know a little more what to expect, as far as missing them, etc. The blessing you receive are abundant, the spirit that dwells within your own walls is remarkable. I can truly feel our Saviors love and the peace it brings me is so wonderful.
We miss Spencer as much as we missed Quinn. We miss their voices, hugs and laughs... but how exciting, when you receive an e-mail and letter from them each week. It becomes our highlight of the week. It's such a tender mercy. I love it!
Thank you, Quinn and Spencer for being such great examples to us and being like the "Army of Helaman" in these modern days.
