Summer Comes To An End...

Summertime... it's are last week at our home. Well, I should say "LAST" week it came to an end.
Alexis has Field Hockey tryouts all week and was selected to be a part of E-Crew for school, they have been training this week before school begins next week. So needless to say... I haven't seen a whole lot of her and won't for the rest of the week.
School starts August, 14th. It's hard to believe Alexis will be a senior this year. The time has just gone way to fast. The high school years for all our children speed by. Not sure why, but that's how Dave and I felt. She is excited to be a Senior... who isn't?! She is excited for her class schedule and to be able to contribute in areas that will give her opportunities to serve in so many ways.
I will miss her everyday... but I have to say, this summer has been a different summer for me and Dave with having no children home for a month. I guess it's good preparation for Dave and I, to realize soon, we will be "Empty Nester's."
This summer went by fast and slow for me. Alexis spent the month is Utah with Erica and her family. Quinn was in SLC all summer doing a Internship, so Alexis was able to see Quinn every weekend. He would come down to Erica's home Friday evening and go back up to SLC Sunday evening.  She loved every minute being able to spend such good time with them. I'm so happy they all had this time together! They love each other so much and I'm so thankful for the close sibling bond they have with one another. I'm so glad our children are such close friends, not just siblings. We've been blessed.
